Meet Jenny and Staff from Urban Source Chicago

jennifer rossignuolo – co-founder and owner

Jenny's shining career in interior design developed early. After graduating at the top of her class in Melbourne, Australia, she spent four years in residential design, including two years as a designer of high-end modern custom kitchens for Domus Kitchens. Praise for her work ranged from profiles in design publications to a prestigious design award given by her peers.

Having caught the travel bug that she couldn’t seem to shake off, Jenny decided to move to London in 1998. From there she explored Europe's rich cultures, histories and architecture while gaining international experience in both commercial and residential design. But no sooner had she left Australia that she met her husband at a train station in Verona. A whirlwind long distance romance ensued before Jenny relocated to Chicago in 2000, her husband's hometown.

Jenny’s personal design style is vibrant, modern and edgy, though she welcomes the challenge to stray beyond her personal style and enjoys working on projects that lean more transitional and eclectic. She believes that great design should be a collaboration between the client and designer and that the end result should reflect the homeowners sense of style.

When not at work, Jenny loves hanging out with her husband and dogs Zach and Prince, going for long walks through Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods, honing her painting and sewing skills, cooking, dining out and of course traveling. She also hopes to find the time to write a novel about her storybook romance!

ryan grace – showroom manager and design consultant

Ryan joined Urban Source in 2008, and we’re not sure how we managed without her. Dependable, friendly and resourceful, she’s also laid back – a plus in our business, which can be stressful and time-crunched.

Ryan is our “go-to guru” for window treatments. She always seems to know where to find the perfect fabric for your room. She’s also a huge puzzle person, so space planning is just fun for her. And she’s loved design since she was a toddler. It helped that her parents encouraged creativity, letting her pick out her own clothes and choose the paint colors for her room.

Ryan loves working one-on-one with clients. She listens closely to make sure she understands exactly what each client wants. Then she goes out and finds that perfect fabric, wallpaper, and color.

Her personal style is classic and clean. But she likes quirky as well and enjoys mixing sleek lines with antiques or something truly unexpected. As long as it’s comfortable and her client loves it. Her mantra is “if you love it, let’s find a way to make it work.” That’s why her clients find working with her so easy.

In her spare time, Ryan is learning how to sew….something she’s also wanted to do and is now loving. It lets her be creative and she gets to work with fabric and color!

april noga – design consultant

April is the newest member of the Urban Source family.  In the showroom she is always inviting and cheerful.  When working with April, it doesn’t take long to tell that she is excited and passionate about what she does.

The feeling of ‘home’ has always been important to April. So it only makes sense that interior design resonates with her. Her design philosophy is to always create and immerse oneself in an environment of personal aesthetic.

April’s own style is poetically eccentric. She loves experimenting with color and pattern. However, with her knowledge of art history and current design trends, she has no problem stepping outside of her own style to help a client realize a space that is unique to their personal taste.

What April loves most about the showroom is being able to work with the independent studios. Having studied fine art and surface design in art school, April is working on developing her own line of wallpapers and home décor fabrics.

When she is not here at Urban Source, she spends her time traveling, hanging out with friends, or at her favorite vintage boutiques and thrift stores. A self proclaimed bibliophile, she also loves spending time in book stores, not to mention organizing her bookcases!  But most of her time is dedicated to cultivating her fine arts practice.
