Velvet Furniture Trend

We are completely loving the velvet furniture trend.  Furniture pieces upholstered in velvet adds a sophisticated whimsy and sense of luxury to interiors! Even in the summer months, velvet fabrics can feel fresh and in season when mixed with bright florals and breezy sheers.

The 2017 color trends of blush pinks, sage, eucalyptus, and other similar hues are a perfect palette for velvet furniture pieces.  If you have ever craved making this type of bold statement in your space, now is the time to pull the trigger – whether it is reupholstering a vintage furniture find or family heirloom, or purchasing a new piece of furniture!

Here are some great examples of this trend from easily accessible stores.

Reupholstering vintage pieces in a modern velvet is also a great option. Find a velvet that is already treated with a stain resistant finish. The solid velvet fabric that we have at Urban Source are treated with Alta stain resistant finish. Liquid from a spill will literally bead up and roll off of the fabric. The best part is, the Alta finish is a green product.
