The Challenge

Our client’s beach side condominium club house was in dire need of an update. The club house, which opens onto the pool and beach featured a heavy and dated color palette, and was no longer serving their needs. The low space frame ceiling is structural and had to stay but was painted a darker color, along with the ceiling so felt heavy and oppressive.

The Solution

We were contracted to submit a conceptual design for the space that would bring the outdoors in and create a sense of continuity between the clubhouse and the adjacent patio. We removed the dated carpet and replaced it with a porcelain plank tile in sandy tones, installed in a herringbone pattern to bring bring interest to the space. Square tables allow the space to be arranged in a number of configurations. The existing bar was replaced with a communal table at bar height to double as both a serving area as well as a meeting table for committee meetings. The ceiling and space frame was lightened in color to bring more visual height to the room, and new furniture creates a fresh and  updated atmosphere.
