The Challenge

This 1990‘s era Jim Lucas home was starting to show its age. A heavy masonry block wall dominated the entire east side of the home. The dated kitchen opened directly to the garage. And the family room and dining room areas were tight while the spacious sunken living room was swimming in space.

The Solution

Relocating the dining room to the spacious living room allowed us to reconfigure the kitchen. We added a large island, a new wet bar and  “casual dining” area, while maintaining space for a small family room and a much-needed mud room to separate the kitchen from the direct garage entry. A white wash softened the heavy masonry wall, which now serves as the perfect backdrop for artwork. Other updates included new stair railings, lighting fixtures throughout and a new pergola on the roof top deck.
